Ole Bull

Ole (pronounced OH-lay) Bull was a colorful entertainer who visted Richburg.  With a company of fifty musicians, he journeyed from New York, via Bath, stopping at the Richardson Tavern.  It posed quite a problem including finding beds and food for so many but Mrs. Richardson sent out to the settlers for assistance and a fine supper was prepared for them.  Afterwards Ole Bull and his musicians played for dancing.
