The Watchdogs are concerned also and would like to see several changes in the current administration in the town of Wirt. With the unpredictable downspiraling economy we continue to face, it is clear that a change in the leadership here is necessary. So "more-of-the-same" just doesn't make any sense for us at this time. All of us can impact that. We have the right to vote. Regardless of your personal preferences, the most important issue is for the taxpayers and citizens of Wirt to be certain to get out and exercise that right this year.

With the elections coming up this fall in the Town of Wirt it will give the residents an opportunity to make some changes on the current board if they desire as there appears to be several new faces that are willing to run for office. This is a small town and the election campaign should be professional and friendly as we all candidates have to face each other after the election is over.

A great entry, I am glad that at least one other person has the fortitude to say what is on their mind, if more folks would speak up the whole nation wouldn't be on the brink of failure. But again, it was collective apathy that drew America into WWII, however, only after millions of innocents were murdered.

I noticed more dirt and pebbles in the Zimmer and Dimmick potholes again, ah but then the rain.... back to square root....NONE!...is it inability or plain irresponsibility that runs amock in some circles.

“Funny,” Mr. Barkley? No, our situation is NOT “funny.”

When I pay my taxes to the Town, I have a right to expect a reasonable level of services. The substandard road conditions are not reasonable, nor are these conditions funny.

Living on a dirt road should not mean that we must accept the second-rate service we’ve received; as taxpayers should we not ALL demand a certain level of professionalism?

The Town has an obligation to maintain the roads in a safe condition for everyone that uses the roads; however, many of the roads in the township, as currently maintained, are a hazard to the PUBLIC’s safety.

“Funny”. It’s strange that you’d use that word. Will it be funny if emergency response vehicles are needed on a town road and can’t reach the emergency? Will it be funny if the Town is hit with a lawsuit and we’re all paying for it on our way to the poorhouse?

In closing, I would tell you, that I’d choose to live next to ANY hard-working farmer that knows the meaning of a “hard day’s work” before choosing to live next to someone that doesn’t do their job but somehow feels entitled to collect a paycheck. Maybe you need to ask yourself – how funny is that?
