February 9
Joseph Kushner, Supervisor, Town of Eagle spoke to the town board and several residents prior to this months regular board meeting concerning their town’s experience with windmills.
In attendance at the regular board meeting was Dick Howard, Trisha Grover, Mike Scott, Shawn Dunmire, Dick Kozlowski. Also in attendance was: Curt & Sue Rung, Paul Sadler, Theresa Baldwin, Alice Dunbar, John Day, Bob Dunbar, Jon Reitz, Larry Bedow, Mark & Gayle Dorrett, Harold Keech, Richard Kemp, Laura Manners, Ron Dunmire, Mrs. Kozlowski, and myself. (I apologize if I missed anyone, I’m going by memory here)
This month I am just going to point out the highlights of this months meeting. These highlights would be:
- The gas bills for the month of January were $1,642 for the highway garage and $1,713 for the town hall.
- Cemeteries will be put out to bid along with Utopia Cemetary.
- Randy’s truck is broke down again and will be another $3,000 to fix
- Curt will be working on the Fish Road
- Paul Sadler’s reservations are made for his schooling to keep his certification (this cost is split between all his towns)
- Petty cash was approved for Judge Manners.
Bids were opened for new overhead doors for the highway barn and there were three bidders:
Green Lakers Construction (Angelica) $10,248.00
Overhead Doors of Canisteo $10,998.00
Overhead Doors of Olean $13,896.00
The job was awarded to Overhead Doors of Canisteo for $10,998.00.
The town board voted to hold off on purchasing a wood/coal stove until the doors are in and they see if there is an improvement in the gas bills.
And the final thought on this meeting is Mr. Kozlowski. Mr. Kozlowski gave his same speech on how the public should not be allowed to speak at a meeting and if they do speak that they should be kicked out of this same meeting. It was politely pointed out to Mr. Kozlowski that before he was a board member he NEVER even attended a meeting and yet here he is a board member trying to dictate who can speak and who can’t. I really don’t feel that any of the other board members feel this way and invite the public opinion and advise at times. Mr. Kozlowski you need to go back to the hole that you crawled out of. (This is the same board member that complains about his assessment being too high but doesn’t have the first clue on how to fight it.)
