Tom Cannon to Speak at Historical Society
Tom Cannon of the Friendship Fire Department will be the guest speaker at the Richburg-Wirt Historical Society’s meeting on Monday, October 6th at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the museum, 243 Main Street, Richburg.
Mr. Cannon is chief engineer of the Steam Crew and chairman of the Silsby Restoration Project. This project enabled the Friendship Fire Company to restore the only operative rotary steam engine in the U.S. The restoration project won the “National Save Our History Community Preservation Award” in 2005.
