After reading the various Town Board Meeting minutes and postings on this site I am compelled to offer my two cents on small town politics, responsibilites of tax-payers, and the state of theTown of Wirt, even though I am not qualified or entitled to do so.

Town Boards like yours struggle to attract qualified members because of the amount of brain damage inflicted by so call citizens that try to avoid their duty and responsibilty, and aggravate everyone they can by brow beating board members and elected officials. Sooner or later the only individuals left to serve on the boards are the very ones that caused the decay of the community.

When conflicts arise because family members are involved in matters of tax assessment there has to be a contingency plan executed, and it seems that in the case of the Assesors Office vs Gail Miller this has happened. I am certain that proper protocol has been followed. If this is not the case I am sure that the State of New York's oversight of the Town's Assesor's Office would be more than willing to step in and take action.

In the meantime perhaps Gail Miller should pay her fair share and stop side-tracking the Board and Assesor's office. Successful communities are built on a foundation of Citizenship, Involvement, and Fellowship. I suppose if she was really a "resident" as she claims, she would know that the town is in a financial struggle right now, as most communities are, and she would find something else for her "Philadelphia Lawyer" to waste his time on besides aggravating the entire Town Board and Assesors office, and spreading his miserable ill will across your community.

After reading the Assessor's Report dated August 6, 2008 I have the following comments:

The report indicates Robert and Gail Miller's small claim assessment-56,100.
The petition to the court was originally $56,100 as Alice Dunbar refused to provide me the proper documentation so the claim was filed with the information I had. Later The Town of Wirt Town Board instructed Alice Dunbar to provide me with the information requested. After I received additional information I submitted it to the court as instructed by the court with certified copies to Alice Dunbar. This information indicates a requested assessment of $69,833.00.

The Assessor's Report list some sales information. It shows Crawford, Wendy-Main St (Gail Miller's old house on the right going up Main St.) $45,000. Why is it so important to the assessor's office to continue to single out Gail Miller ?
