Meeting Tonight
Once again there is a Board Meeting tonight that was not advertised. Well I guess Jane will argue that is was even though she just through up a piece of paper on the board a couple of hours ago. I’m still waiting to see the minutes from the May 29 meeting. There was also a meeting on July 12 and not minutes have been posted. Why isn’t the Town Board asking to see these minutes? They are just as much to blame on this matter as she is. This is really getting to be a game for Jane to see just how much she can get away with. Let me reiterate the Open Meeting Law from my May 29th post for you.

Some things will NEVER change !
I had called Jane one morning and asked her for the dates of the sitting of the tax rolls and she told me she was busy. I asked her when it would be a good time to call back and she told me in a couple of hours. As usual I was nice to her and called he back in 4 hours. When I asked her if she could give me the dates she told me no. I asked her why and she told me she didn’t want to. I asked her why and she told me it had been published in the paper and posted as required. I thanked her and hung up. Anything she does is not a suprise to me.
The board is well aware of her actions and it would be my suggestion that the Town Clerk position be an appointed position by the board and not an elected position. The board or the voters need to address this situation.
As long as she treats people the way she does and does not do what she is elected to do I will continue to correspond on this web site.
Dear fellow residents of the town,
I have been following this web site for some time. I like to see other people take an interest in how our town,(most important, tax dollars) our run by our ellected officials.
What I do not like to see is how much critiscim is published on this site. Instead of,” I can’t beleive she did this” or,” I would have done it this way!”
Take the time and explain the proper procedure. It seems that there are quite of few people who do know how to run this town that are not an elected official. Where are you guys on election day? Why is it that your names are not on the ballot? We live in the best country there is. We are free to vote for who we want, and say what we want.
As always, there are to sides to every situation. Personal attacks will not help the situation
For those of you who do not know me, I am one of three elected assesors for the Town of Wirt, and “Jane” is my mother-in-law.
Thank-you for the time to express my personal opinion.
I actually like this website as it is different than any other town and it allows one to be able to vent without any restrictions. I think that more of the towns residents should use use site as a way to not only point out the bad in things but also the good. I want to be the first person to enter a kind word. I want to thank Lea for taking the time spent on this site and I hope that she continues to run this site. In time, this will be a huge asset to the town because of the feedback provided. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with Jane personally a couple of times and she was very polite and professional to me. I just thought I’d share this in fairness to her. We don’t want this site to be a hate site. If it turns into that, the true value of it will be lost. Now, on another note. I’d like to hear from anyone interested in starting up a business association for the town of Wirt. Even if you are looking for work and have a certian skill, you are an asset. Is it possible to turn this beautiful town into a mega town sprawling with tourism and employment opportunities. I think it can be done.
I know this web site was set up to be positive for the Town of Wirt and provide information to anyone who wished to seek it. It is also a public web site for anyone who wishes to make a comment. Any comments are reviewed prior to being posted. I believe this site in the long run will be positive for the town. There will continue to be comments that are not appreciated by some. These comments are made because someone is not following the laws of the state or directions from the county or town board.
I have attended some of the town meeting and have observed very positive things such as Mr. Rung having the road crews pick up tires that no one else has and disposing of them, Mr. Howard and the board directing the clerk to post the minutes properly, Mr. Dunmire making the statement that it would be wrong if the town didn’t follow the county concerning veteran’s tax exemptions, (The assessors were to investigate this but no report has been given to the board) and
the written reports from the departments.
