I read the minutes of the April 14, 2008 and found them to be very accurate and informative. I received a copy of the minutes from the Town Clerk today and found them not to be very precise. The minutes said, Mr. Robert Dunbar complained , that he could not get the minutes within 2 weeks of the board meeting. The board replied Jane is doing what we told her to do. After some discussion it was decided Jane can make the minutes public after 2 weeks woth the word DRAFT across them.

Jane waas actually instructed by the board to have the minutes within 2 weeks a required by New York law and to send the minutes to me at the same time. I talked to Jane 3 weeks after the meeting and she told me thay hadn't been posted yet and she was in the process of mailing mine now. I asked her why they hadn't been posted and she told me she was busy.

I called Jane later on 5/5/08 and asked her when the sitting of the taxes rolls was and she told she was busy and I would have to call back in an hour. I called her in the afternoon and asked if she could give me the information and she told me no. I asked her why and she told me because she didn't want to as the notice was posted and it was in the paper in
April. I'm very surprised that an elected official serving the public can be so unprofessional.

Thank you for the informative posting of the town minutes. We don't always have time to go to the meetings, but it's great to FINALLY have an idea of what goes on. More than anything, thank you for the site. It's about time we all knew where our tax dollars are going or not going. (It's sure not in the roads. Have you driven on Mill Street lately? It must use too much gas to drive the truck out of the town barn to fix the potholes.)
